What is tumbler circumference?

The circumference is π × diameter. It tells you exactly how wide your artwork needs to be to wrap exactly once around the tumbler without gaps or overlap.

Roller vs. Chuck rotary

Roller rotaries drive the tumbler by spinning rollers underneath it — you need the roller diameter for LightBurn setup. Chuck rotaries clamp the tumbler and drive it directly.

LightBurn rotary setup

Go to Laser Tools → Rotary Setup. Select Roller, enter the roller diameter and LightBurn calculates everything else. Always do a tape test wrap before engraving.

Steps per rotation (LaserGRBL)

Steps per rotation = steps/mm × π × roller diameter. This is a starting estimate — fine-tune by running a 100mm line next to the tumbler and measuring.
