Cutting 3mm basswood at single pass is marginal on 5W — 3 passes at this speed is community consensus. Fast raster engrave at 4000mm/min. 50% power gives a good warm brown mark. The Creality Falcon runs well in LaserGRBL for simpler jobs and LightBurn for more complex projects. Consistent results on wood engraving — a reliable workhorse at the entry level.

Two passes at 90% cuts 3mm basswood reliably. The original Creality Falcon 10W is a straightforward open-frame diode — no frills but it works well with LightBurn. Air assist is an add-on but dramatically improves cut quality and reduces char on the second pass.

Decent engrave quality for a 5W. Good for simple text and logos. Reduce speed to 1000 mm/min for photo detail.

5W module is very limited for wood cutting — 5 passes needed. Very slow. Better suited to engraving. Consider upgrading to a higher-wattage module.
