K40 stock tube output varies widely — run a material test first. 55% is a mid-point; adjust for your tube age and condition. Stock bed has no air assist.

Stock 40W K40. Single pass at moderate speed. Actual tube output varies (25–35W on budget units) — adjust power if edges are tacky. Air assist significantly improves cut quality and reduces char. Clean optics before long runs.

K40 stock settings. Raster engrave at 100mm/s, 10% power produces ~0.5mm engrave depth on softwoods. Harder woods may need slightly more power. Keep speed under 200mm/s to avoid banding or quality issues. CO2 laser — no wavelength restrictions on wood types.
