The Sculpfun S10 Pro is a 10W diode laser engraver. This page lists 61 community-tested settings covering speed, power, passes, air assist, and DPI across a range of materials. Always run a test cut on scrap material first — results vary depending on your material batch, focus, and ambient conditions.
The Sculpfun S10 Pro is a 10W diode laser with a 410×420mm work area and improved beam quality over the S9. Works with LightBurn and LaserGRBL. Good for wood and leather engraving and light cutting of 3mm basswood in two passes. A competitive mid-range option for crafters who want more power than the S9 without the cost of a 20W+ machine.
Two passes through 3mm Baltic birch. The void-free core gives more consistent results than standard plywood at the same settings. Air assist reduces char significantly. The S10 Pro handles Baltic birch well for jig templates and small production runs.
Removes powder coat in one pass. Use a rotary attachment and calibrate steps-per-mm in LightBurn. Clean with IPA before engraving. The S10 Pro's 10W is sufficient for most powder coat brands in a single pass. Ensure the tumbler is level and balanced on the rotary.
Kraft paper cuts crisply at high speed and low power. Edge discolouration is minimal at 28%. Great for gift tags, stickers, and paper decorations. Use a pin bed to support paper and prevent the beam from reflecting off the metal honeycomb.
Cork engraves cleanly at low power. At 10W, 32% is the sweet spot — higher power burns through the surface texture. Great for coasters and trivets. The S10 Pro produces results on cork indistinguishable from much more expensive machines.
Single-wall cardboard cuts cleanly at moderate power. Good for rapid prototyping before committing to wood or acrylic. Keep power under 65% to reduce ignition risk. Never leave the machine unattended when cutting cardboard.
Removes anodising cleanly. No Cermark needed on anodised aluminium — the diode wavelength strips the layer efficiently. Great for dog tags, tumblers, and keyrings. Use a rotary attachment for cylindrical pieces.
Bright white engrave on slate. Invert your image before sending. The S10 Pro produces excellent slate results — one of the most satisfying materials for diode lasers. Wipe clean with a damp cloth after to reveal full contrast.
Rich dark engrave on vegetable-tanned leather at 45%. The 10W module handles leather engraving excellently. Keep power below 60% to avoid cutting through thin leather. Test on chrome-tanned leather separately as it gives lighter, greyer marks.
Fast raster engrave at 4500mm/min and 50%. The S10 Pro's improved beam quality over the S9 gives slightly sharper engraves on wood. For photo engraving use Stucki dithering and drop to 40%. Consistent warm brown marks across the whole sheet.
Two passes at 90% cuts 3mm basswood cleanly. The S10 Pro's 10W module is a step up from the original S9 with better beam quality. Air assist significantly reduces char between passes. A solid all-round engraver and light cutter for the price.
MDF cuts cleanly with 10W + air assist in 3 passes. Multiple faster passes give cleaner edges than 1 slow pass. Heavy fumes — ventilate well. Air assist is critical for MDF.
What materials can the Sculpfun S10 Pro engrave or cut?
The Sculpfun S10 Pro has community-tested settings for 3mm Mirrored Acrylic, 3mm Clear Acrylic (Cast), 3mm Maple Plywood, Rubber Stamp Material, 3mm Walnut Plywood, Bamboo 3mm, Cotton Fabric, Denim Fabric, and 26 more. Results vary by material batch, focus, and ambient conditions — always test on scrap first.
What settings should I use to cut 3mm Walnut Plywood on the Sculpfun S10 Pro?
A community-tested starting point is speed 400 mm/min, power 100% in 2 passes. Always run a test cut on scrap to confirm before committing to your project.
Can the Sculpfun S10 Pro engrave metal?
Diode lasers can mark anodized aluminium, coated metals, and powder-coated surfaces without any spray. For bare steel, brass, or copper you need a marking compound like Cermark or Dry Moly. Fiber lasers mark bare metal directly without any coating.
"Used it with a Glowforge — engraved beautifully with no changes. I will be purchasing more digital downloads from this shop."
