The Sculpfun S30 Pro is a 33W diode laser engraver with a 380×385mm work area and works with LightBurn. This page lists 155 community-tested settings covering speed, power, passes, air assist, and DPI across a range of materials. Always run a test cut on scrap material first — results vary depending on your material batch, focus, and ambient conditions.

The Sculpfun S30 Pro is a 33W diode laser with built-in air assist and a 600×600mm work area — one of the larger open-frame diode beds available. The S30 Pro cuts 3mm basswood easily and handles 5mm with extra passes. Air assist is integrated rather than an add-on, which keeps the price competitive. Works with LightBurn. Suitable for crafters who need a larger work surface for signs, cutting boards, or batch jig layouts.

Should you buy the Sculpfun S30 Pro?

Best for: Crafters who need a large work area (600×600mm) and real cutting power. Built-in air assist keeps the price competitive at 33W.

Skip if: You need an enclosed machine for fume safety, or you only do light engraving — a cheaper S9 would suffice.

Chipboard cuts very easily on the S30 Pro — one fast clean pass. Great starting point for packaging prototypes and stencils. Air assist on. Excellent results at high speed.

Cotton Fabriccut
Speed700 mm/minPower65%Passes1

Cotton cuts on the S30 Pro at moderate speed. Keep air assist off to avoid blowing fabric. Use a pin board or honeycomb to hold material flat. Slightly singed edges — test your specific cotton weight. Natural cotton cuts cleaner than polyester blends.

Bambooengrave
Speed3500 mm/minPower55%Passes1

Bamboo engraves well on the S30 Pro. Harder than wood so slightly more power needed. 55% at 3500mm/min gives good contrast. Very popular material for the Sculpfun community — cutting boards, coasters, and utensils. Line interval 0.1mm recommended.

Cherryengrave
Speed4000 mm/minPower48%Passes1

Cherry is a great pairing for the S30 Pro — fine grain gives crisp engraving at 33W. 48% at 4000mm/min produces a warm caramel mark. Very consistent results. One of the best materials for high-quality gift engraving on a diode machine.

Buy Cherry
Oakengrave
Speed3500 mm/minPower55%Passes1

Oak engraves well on the 33W Sculpfun S30 Pro. Dense hardwood absorbs the diode at 55% power. Rich brown contrast with fine grain detail. Increase to 65% for a darker mark. Use the S30 Pro's air assist for a cleaner result on denser wood.
