Confirmed by multiple S1 40W reviewers: 90% power / 300mm/s / 1 pass / 100 lines/cm produces excellent results on slate coasters in approximately 6.5 minutes. This is a well-tested, widely-cited setting across the community. Higher speed (400mm/s) at same power produces lighter contrast. Use XCS 'Rock Coaster' preset as a starting reference. Air assist not required for slate. Speed180 mm/sPower30%Passes1

Settings confirmed by an M1 10W user in the xTool community support thread for photo engraving on slate coasters (support.xtool.com/community-support/detail/8197). Power 30%, Speed 180mm/s, 1 pass. Low power + high speed produces best contrast on slate — going darker tends to over-ablate and lose detail. For vector/line art you can push to 50% power at 150mm/s.
