M1 enclosed design makes leather engraving much more pleasant — no smoke smell. Same settings as D1 Pro.

Good leather engrave on Sculpfun. Slightly larger spot than xTool means detail is marginally less sharp at same DPI.

Suede is delicate — very easy to over-burn. Start lower than you think. Result depends heavily on suede quality and thickness. Always test.

Similar settings to xTool. Ortur can run slightly hotter so start 5% lower than you would on xTool.

Single pass clean cut. Glowforge has great leather cutting results. Keep masking on surface to prevent smoke marks.

Single pass clean cut on veg tan with CO2. Sealed edges, slight char is normal and can be burnished off.

2 passes cuts cleanly through 2-3mm veg tan. Seal edges with edge paint or beeswax after cutting for a professional finish.

CO2 cuts leather beautifully with sealed edges. Slightly charred edge is normal on veg tan — wipe with damp cloth.

5W needs more power than 10W equivalent. Good clean result. Tape leather flat before engraving — any curl will throw off focus.

Glowforge speed is scaled 1-1000. Approx 170mm/s at setting 500. Vary power 20-40% for lighter/darker.

Faux leather varies hugely. Some patches have metallic layers needing even lower power. Always test first.

Lower power prevents burning through. Post-engrave: press adhesive tape on surface and peel to remove soot.
